BERKELEY - Today's 22-point comeback was the largest deficit overcome by Cal since the Bears came back to beat Arizona State, 95-78, in 1994 at Harmon Gym after being down by 20. Today, Cal trailed Stanford, 47-25, with 4:33 remaining in the first half. The Bears regained the lead at the 3:04 mark in the second half to take a 72-71 lead.

For the first time this season, five players reached double figures \(Patrick Christopher-21, Jerome Randle-18, Jamal Boykin-11, Harper Kamp-11 and Jorge Gutierrez-10). The last time Cal had five players reach double figures was when Stanford visited Haas Pavilion last year.

Gutierrez's five steals were the most by a Bear since Richard Midgley had six on Nov. 6, 2005. Not only were his five steals a personal best and a team high, but Gutierrez collected more steals today than Cal has as a team in 12 games this season. In addition to his five steals, Gutierrez and Kamp also led the Bears on the boards with eight.

Today's victory over Stanford marked the 15th win at home this season for Cal, the most home wins for the Bears since the 2001-02 squad won 17 contests. This is also the quickest Cal has gotten to 19 wins overall since the 1959-60 season when Cal reached the NCAA national title game. That team won its 19th game of the season on Feb. 13, 1960.

For the third-straight contest, the Bears were victorious after trailing at the half. Stanford led, 50-36, at the half today.

Christopher posted his seventh 20-point outing of the season to lead the Bears. He was also 3-for-4 from behind the arc, as Cal finished 5-for-9 as a team from the three-point line.

Randle led the Bears with eight assists and also grabbed seven rebounds to go with his 18 points.

Cal earned 46 points in the paint to Stanford's 20, and had 12 fast-break points to Stanford's three.
