TUCSON, Ariz. -
Cal won for the first time at the McKale Center since 1995 with tonight's 83-77 victory.
The Bears tied the school record for most three-pointers in a game with 16.
Leading the way in the three-point shooting was Jerome Randle who swished a career-high eight treys, one shy of the school record for the most in a game by one player. He ended the night with a career-high 31 points, becoming the 32nd player in school history to score 30 points in a game. Randle set the school record for the most three-pointers in a season, as he now currently has 74, surpassing the old record of 68.
Theo Robertson also recorded a new personal best in scoring, collecting 24 points. One of his four three-pointers on the night was also the 100th of his career. Despite only shooting 4-for-11 from behind the arc, Robertson still holds the best season average from behind the three-point line in school history at 50.5 percent.
Patrick Christopher was the third Bear to reach double figures, notching 12 points. Christopher was also Cal's leading rebounder with seven boards. Both he and Randle each played 39 of the 40 minutes in the game.
Cal now has 22 wins overall this season, the most since the 2002-03 season. If the Bears beat Arizona State on Saturday, Mike Montgomery will tie Ben Braun for the most wins by a head coach at Cal in his first year.
