The Bears held a 3-2 lead until the bottom of the fifth. With two outs and the bases loaded, the Sun Devils hot a home run to take a 6-3 lead.

The Bears tried to rally in the seventh with Elia Reid leading off with a solo home run to left field to make it a 6-4 game. With one out, junior Taylor Kelly singled up the middle. Junior Vernae Sevilla followed with a single through the left side. A fielders choice had runners at first and second with two outs for Arioto, who singled up the middle to load the bases for the Bears. The Sun Devils induced a ground out to third to hold the Bears to the one run on four hits in the inning and to secure the 6-4 victory.

Cal's Vernae Sevilla went 3-for-4 with a run driven in. Elia Reid had two hits in four at-bats with two runs driven in. Jamia Reid and Valerie Arioto each had two hits in the loss.
