SEATTLE - Tony Salciccia scored the game-winning goal and an assist to lead No. 14/19 California to another big Pac-10 Conference win - this time a 4-1 victory over host Washington - on Sunday afternoon at Husky Soccer Field. The Golden Bears, who have averaged scoring four goals per game in their three conference wins, improved their record to 7-1-2 (3-0-0 in the Pac-10). Washington fell to 7-4-1 (1-3-0 Pac-10). Cal has not lost in seven games.

At 10:51, Salciccia's corner kick found sophomore forward John Fitzpatrick, who headed the ball past UW goalkeeper Spencer Richey to make the score 1-0. Senior forward Davis Paul passed to Salciccia in the Huskies' penalty area, and the sophomore midfielder fired into the far corner of the net to give the Bears a 2-0 lead at 18:36.

Cal took its 2-0 lead into the break.

A Huskies' handball produced a Cal penalty kick that senior defender A.J. Soares converted at 66:23, and Cal led 3-0. Soares, whose goal was his fourth of the season, then assisted on Paul's fifth goal at 70:56 that gave the Bears a 4-0 lead.

Washington earned a penalty kick of its own at 76:22, and Matt Van Houten converted the PK to make the score 4-1. The Huskies did not take another shot, and the Bears held on to win, 4-1.
