HENDERSON, Nev. - With an impressive, six-run first inning, the No. 1/3 California softball team cruised to a 14-3 win against No. 24 LSU on Sunday morning.

Cal got incredible bat performances from Jace Williams, Breana Kostreba, Jolene Henderson and Frani Echavarria- all of whom homered with all but Henderson's jack coming in the top of the fifth.

"Pac-12 versus the SEC is always an intense match-up," Williams said. "The way we won was a perfect way to win a perfect weekend. This year's team is incredibly talented and I know we all enjoy that ginormous target on our back. That's the difference, this team enjoys and embraces pressure. I'm so stoked on this team and out great team win today!"

After the Tigers put three runs on the board in the bottom of the third, the Golden Bears tacked on two more runs in the fourth. It was not until the fifth inning, when Cal posted a lofty six runs in the top of the fifth to get the mercy victory.

Williams led the way with five RBI while Kostreba knocked in four.

Jolene Hendersonpitched the five-inning victory, allowing three earned runs on six hits while fanning five.

Mack suffered the loss after giving up six earned runs in 0.2 innings on six hits and one walk. Patterson pitched the final 4.1 innings, allowing eight earned runs on six hits and five walks.

Top of the First - California 6, LSU 0:

Williams got the scoring started with a double to left center, plating Britt Vonk and Jamia Reid. With a single through the left side, Kostreba brought Valerie Arioto home. Williams scored on a wild pitch, and then Jolene Hendersonhomered to left center, scoring two more runs.

Bottom of the third - California 6, LSU 3:

With a single to left, Falcon plated the Tigers' first run of the game. A sacrifice fly plated another and a McCasland single to left scored the third and final run.

Top of the Fourth - California 8, LSU 3:

With a hefty swing of the bat, Kostreba doubled to left center, scoring Arioto and Vonk.

Top of the Fifth - California 14, LSU 3:

It was all about the homers in the fifth with Echavarria dishing out a two-run shot to right center, Williams knocking in three RBI with a homer to center and Kostreba notching a solo shot to left.
