CORVALLIS, Ore. - The No. 1 California softball team scored once in the first, twice in the third and once in the fifth en route to a 4-2 win over No. 22 Oregon State on Saturday afternoon. The Golden Bears got solo shots from Valerie Arioto and Breana Kostreba while Victoria Jones and Jace Williams accounted for the other two RBI.

After Friday's 9-1 five-inning route and by winning Saturday's game, the Bears clinch the series victory over the Beavers for their seventh Pac-12 series victory.

Second in the Pac-12 in fielding percentage, the Golden Bears had an uncharacteristic day on defense, being rung up on three errors, causing both of the Beaver runs to be unearned.

Arioto - who notched her 21st homer of the season before even stepping foot in the circle - pitched the first two innings, in which she struck out two and allowed three hits. Jolene Henderson (28-1) threw the final five, with two unearned runs scoring under her watch.

Demore allowed four earned runs on five hits and seven walks in her six-inning stint, taking the loss. Hall threw one perfect inning with three strikeouts.

Top of the First - Cal 1, OSU 0:

With a 2-2 count, Valerie Arioto homered to left-center.

Top of the Third - Cal 3, OSU 0:

Elia Reid led off with a seven-pitch walk, stole second and advanced to third when the throw got away at second. Jace Williams drove in Reid with a double to left-center. Williams moved to third on a wild pitch and scored when Victoria Jones singled through the left side.

Bottom of the Fourth - Cal 3, OSU 1:

Beltran started the inning off with a single to left, was replaced at first by Batayola. With Cavestany grounding into a fielder's choice, Batayola advanced to second and then to second on a throwing error and then proceeded to steal home.

Top of the Fifth - Cal 4, OSU 1:

After a ball and then fouling one off, Breana Kostreba knocked out a solo shot to left-center field.

Bottom of the Sixth - Cal 4, OSU 2:

Chandler reached on an error. Chandler went to second when Cavestany singled down the right-field line and then to third on a throwing error. With the bases loaded, Garcia was hit by a pitch, bringing home Chandler from third.

Next Time on the Diamond:

Cal goes for the sweep in the 11 a.m. match-up between the Bears and Beavers.
