Ronick is an excellent goalkeeper who has been hampered by injuries - ankle injury in 1997, wrist injury in '98 and a concussion in '99...had hip surgery after the 2000 season and is working towards full strength in time for the 2001 campaign...when healthy, she will challenge for the starting job...possesses great anticipation skills and reads offensive attackers well...according to Coach Boyd, she has the ability to fly and can get to the ball in the upper corner that you think is a goal.
CAL: 2000: After battling injuries through her first three seasons, saw her first significant playing time as a junior...saw action in six games, allowing only one goal in 111 minutes of action...posted a combined 2.5 shutouts...co-recipient of the Coaches Award...earned honorable mention Academic All-Pac-10 distinction. 1999: Missed her entire sophomore season as a result of a concussion. 1998: Redshirted due to a wrist injury. 1997: Appeared in one game for the Bears her freshman year before suffering an ankle injury that kept her out for the remainder of the season.
HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL: A three-year starter in goal for Redwood HS...earned all-league honors following the 1995 and '96 seasons...anchored a defense that shut out its opponents at an 80 percent rate...also played for the Tiburon Tornadoes club team...competed in tennis at Redwood, posting an undefeated singles season playing in the No. 2 position...sociology major...parents are Mel and Ruth Ronick of Tiburon...born July 26, 1997 in San Francisco.
