Morton possesses outstanding athleticism...due to injuries was moved from midfielder to goalkeeper...could challenge for minutes in goal if she continues to progress and see enough practice time at that position...started one game in goal for Cal as a freshman.

CAL: 2001: Missed most of her junior season with an Achilles injury...played in three games at forward...returned in time for the Oct. 28 Stanford road game.

2000: Saw significant playing time at outside mid, starting 11 of the 18 games she played in...netted goals against No. 25 James Madison and Oregon...selected second team Academic All-Pac-10.

1999: Appeared in 12 games, making seven starts as a freshman...saw most of her minutes as a flank midfielder...had one assist...started in goal against Duke when starting keeper Maite Zabala had to sit out the game with a red card and there were no other available keepers...also played in goal for the conclusion of the Tennessee game...made five saves in the Bears 1-0 loss to the Blue Devils...Cal's Most Improved Player.

HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL: Helped lead her club team, the Mission Viejo Elite Mirage, to the Far West Regional title and a national runner-up finish...earned Sunset League MVP honors as a senior at Edison HS and was a first team all-league selection three-straight years...named All-CIF in 1999...her high school team won league championships in '98 and '99...sociology major...parents are Michael and Mary Ann Morton...born May 8, 1981 in Newport Beach.
