HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL: At Seattle Prep was first-team all-state as a shortstop, and first-team All-Metro as both a shortstop and pitcher...helped his team to back-to-back Metro League championships...as a junior batted .531 with a school record 14 doubles and was named Metro Player of the Year...also was a member of the 2001 Seattle Mariners Area Code Team and was selected to Baseball Washington's Metro Team that participated in the Northwest Championship...in 1999 was selected to the Washington state Junior Olympic Team and was named all-tournament at the national championships in Lakeland, Fla....majoring in American studies...parents are Bill and Susan Carlson...born May 5, 1984 in Bellevue, Wash.
