Lord is one of seven true freshman on the Cal team this year...plays both guard positions...expected to have an immediate impact but may miss the start of the season, as she is rehabilitating a torn right ACL suffered playing basketball as a senior in high school...tough athlete, who comes from a winning program...excellent outside shooter...handles the ball very well...has a strong work ethic and conditioning level...a floor leader by example...excels on defense.
High School: Had an outstanding senior season at Brea-Olinda High School, averaging 16.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.1 steals per game...helped lead her team to a 26-5 record...her honors as a senior included first team all-state Division II and CIF Division II AA Player of the Year, Orange League Female Athlete of the Year...also named MVP of her high school team and to the Los Angeles Times and Orange County Register first teams...as a junior, earned first team Orange League and All-CIF Division II after averaging 13.8 points, 2.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game...also garnered numerous academic honors each of her four years - Brea-Olinda Academic Award, lettered scholar, Orange League Scholar Athlete and scholastic All-CIF...during Lord's four years on the team, Brea won three Division II state titles (98-99-00), three CIF South Section titles (98-99-01) and was a four year Orange League champion with a 40-0 record...with Lord on the team, Brea's four-year record was 120-15...set the school record for three-point percentage (58%) for a season...attended a Nike Camp in Santa Barbara...played in the 2000 North and South Orange All-Star game.
