Cal Baseball Loses to No. 5 OSU, 5-0

Cal baseball was limited to two hits by Oregon State right-hander Andrew Moore -
getting singles from Devin Pearson in the second inning and Mitchell Kranson in the eighth inning - falling to the No. 5-ranked Beavers, 5-0, Saturday (April 4) at Goss Stadium in Corvallis.
The Golden Bears went to 21-25 overall and 9-14 in the Pac-12, while OSU improved to 36-8 and 16-4 in conference play. Moore, who threw a complete game for the Beavers, improved his record to 9-1 with two hits, one walk and two strikeouts.
After getting out of a bases-loaded no out jam in the first inning, Cal junior right-hander Trevor Hildenberger (5-3, 6.0 innings, nine hits, five runs, four walks, three strikeouts) faced the same situation in the second inning, but yielded a two-run single to Andy Peterson and a two-run double to Dylan Davis to fall behind, 4-0.
The Beavers picked up another run in the sixth inning on Dylan Davis' bases loaded walk. Junior left-hander Kyle Porter threw the final 2.0 innings for the Bears (one hit, one walk, two strikeouts).
The Bears next play the Beavers in the final game of the three-game series Sunday, May 5 at 12:05 p.m. at Goss Stadium. Cal dropped a 5-1 decision to OSU on Friday night.
