PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – California sophomore Maegan Manasse won again to reach the quarterfinals of main draw singles at the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships, but the sophomore lost in the final eight to complete the Golden Bears' run in the main draw. Senior Zsofi Susanyi and junior Klara Fabikova fell in the round of 16.

In the round of 16, the 43rd-ranked Manasse defeated Pepperdine's 20th-ranked Lorraine Guillermo, 6-4, 6-4. Manasse lost her next match to UCLA's sixth-seeded and seventh-ranked Chanelle Van Nguyen, 6-4, 6-3. The Bruin beat two Bears on Friday, as the 16th-ranked Susanyi lost to Van Nguyen, 6-4, 6-1, in the round of 16. Fabikova, ranked 60th, also lost to a top-10 opponent, falling to Georgia's fifth-seeded and sixth-ranked Lauren Herring, 3-6, 6-1, 6-2, in the round of 16.

The lone Golden Bear still playing at the All-American set up an intriguing matchup on Saturday in consolation singles. In a match that could have taken place in the main draw, 2014 NCAA singles runner-up Lynn Chi – seeded third in the bracket and ranked eighth nationally – will battle North Carolina's top-ranked and top-seeded Jamie Loeb in the consolation semifinals.

Manasse upset Loeb – who was also the top seed in the main draw – in Thursday's main draw round of 32 to send the Tar Heel to the consolation bracket. Last spring, Chi upset Loeb – also ranked No. 1 at the time – in the NCAA singles quarterfinals on her way to the championship match.

Chi got to the All-American consolation semifinals by first besting Auburn's 36th-ranked Pleun Burgmans, 6-4, 6-1, in the opening round of 16 and then knocking off Michigan's 21st-ranked Ronit Yurovsky, 6-3, 6-3, in the quarterfinals.

The Chi-Loeb semifinal is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
