Gray Takes Over For No. 14 Cal in 82-70 Win Over Missouri
HONOLULU – Reshanda Gray gave the crowd at the Stan Sheriff Center a display of what makes her an All-American candidate after scoring a season-high 28 points to lead No. 14 California to an 82-70 win over Missouri to win the Rainbow Wahine Classic.
With the Golden Bears trailing 47-46 with 15:34 remaining in the second half, Gray scored 14 points in a 16-2 Cal run that put the Bears ahead for good at 62-49.
Missouri never came closer than seven points the rest of the way as Cal improved to 4-0. The Tigers dropped their first game of the season to fall to 3-1.
Before Gray's heroics, Mikayla Cowling had a tremendous first half for the Bears, scoring 12 points on a perfect 5-of-5 from the field, including 2-of-2 from beyond the arc. Cowling finished the game with 15 points
For the season, Cowling is now 10-of-14 from 3-point range after just four career collegiate games.
