BERKELEY - California senior Brittany Boyd nearly recorded the first quadruple-double in Pac-12 history but did leave Haas Pavilion Monday night with a different type of historical note in a game that saw five Golden Bears score in double-figures in a commanding 79-59 win over Old Dominion.

With the win, Cal snapped a three-game losing streak and advanced to 8-3 on the year to match last season's non-conference record.

Senior Reshanda Gray led the scoring column with 20 points, while Boyd contributed 14 points and just as many assists for her fourth double-double of the year. She added eight rebounds and a season-high seven steals to her numbers to become just the second player in Pac-12 history to hit the career marks of 1400 points, 600 rebounds, 600 assists and 300 steals - the other being Nikki Blue of UCLA who matched the feat in her career spanning from 2002-06.

With 603 career assists, Boyd now ranks eighth on the Pac-12 all-time assists leaderboard. The senior guard added seven steals to her performance, moving her to fourth on the Pac-12 all-time steals list.

Freshman Mikayla Cowling joined the senior duo in double-digits with 13 points, while sophomore Mercedes Jefflo and freshman Gabby Green tallied 11 and 10 points, respectively. First-year Penina Davidson and redshirt senior Brittany Shine contributed 11 points, collectively.

Cal registered 25 assists on 33 made field goals Monday night and used a 16-4 run in the opening five minutes of the game to soar to victory. Old Dominion never came closer than 10 points the rest of the way as the Bears increased their lead to as many as 34 points.

For the game, Cal shot 55 percent (33-60) from the field, 40 percent (6-15) from downtown and 64 percent (7-11) from the charity stripe. Old Dominion connected on 37 percent (21-57) of its shots, including 38 percent (6-16) from beyond the arc and 65 percent (11-17) from the free-throw line. The Bears held a slight 39-32 rebound advantage.

Cal turns its attention to conference play when it hosts Utah on Saturday, Jan. 3, to open Pac-12 competition. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m., and the game will be broadcast live on Pac-12 Networks.
