Trzcinski Leads South Australia to U-19 National Championship

ADELAIDE, South Australia – California sophomore pitcher Stephanie Trzcinski allowed just one run in an eight-inning effort to help lead her South Australia squad to its first Softball Australia Under-19 National Championship since 2006, defeating Queensland 2-1 in the Grand Final on Jan. 17. Trzcinski was also named Player of the Grand Final for her efforts.

South Australia claimed its first Elinor McKenzie Shield since 2006, and just the third championship since the tournament began in 1974.

Trzcinski tossed four strikeouts through eight innings and allowed nine hits with one unearned run in the victory. Teammates Emma Burridge and Elly Beal scored two runs for South Australia in the eighth inning to help the squad to the 2-1 victory.
