Lasco Has Record-Breaking Day At Combine

INDIANAPOLIS – Former Cal football player Daniel Lasco had a huge performance Friday at the 2016 NFL Scouting Combine presented by Hyundai as he posted a broad jump of 11'3” that is the longest ever by a running back at the event and tied for the seventh longest by a player at any position. Lasco also had a 41.5 vertical jump that was the day's best and tied for third all-time at the event by running backs.

In addition to his record-breaking performances Lasco was second among the event's running backs in the 60-yard shuttle, while he was fourth at his position in the 40-yard dash, sixth in the 20-yard shuttle (4.26), seventh with his 23 bench press reps of 225 pounds on Thursday and 11th in the 3-cone drill (7.22).

Lasco was the first of five former Cal football players to participate in on-field position work and a series of measurable drills with tight end Stephen Anderson, wide receiver Trevor Davis, quarterback Jared Goff and wide receiver Kenny Lawler scheduled for Saturday.

"I was just excited and honored to be at the combine and enjoyed every step of that long, stressful process," Lasco said. "I'm excited to see the rest of my guys go out there and do the same thing."

"Daniel's performance today at the NFL Combine was tremendous but not surprising," head coach Sonny Dykes said. "Daniel is a gifted athlete and has worked diligently to prepare himself for professional football. I believe he we will be an excellent NFL player."

The five former players equal Cal's most combine participants since five Golden Bears also participated in 2013.
