BERKELEY -- After winning their first game of the season on the road at Maryland's Terrapin Invitational, the Golden Bears return home to Berkeley seeking their first win at the newly opened Underhill Field this week. Cal field hockey hosts Drexel in a mid-week tilt, set to begin on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Admission is free, and parking is available in the Underhill Parking Structure directly underneath the field.

FAST FACTS

• All six of Cal's goals this season have come from second-year student-athletes. Five goals are from returning starters Melina Moore and Janaye Sakkas, while sophomore Katrina Carter, who redshirted in 2015, has also added a goal to her stat line.

• Kori Griswold notched 16 saves between two games at this weekend's Terrapin Invitational.

• Drexel is the final nonconference home opponent that the Bears will host this season.

SCOUTING THE DRAGONS

• Series: Teams are tied, 2-2
• Streak: Three of Cal's four meetings with Drexel have reached overtime.
• The Dragons are 2-3 this season and coming off a 3-1 victory over city rival Temple.
• Drexel returns six starters and 14 players overall from last year's squad, which went 8-11 and finished second in the Colonial Athletic Association.
• Jessica McCarthy leads the team with 13 points off two goals and four assists.
• Megan Wiest owns a team-leading three goals, plus one assist for seven total points.
• Four other Drexel players have scored this season for a total of 10 goals.
• Erin Gilchrist has started every game in goal for the Dragons, notching 44 saves in five appearances with a 3.15 goals against average.

NO SIGNS OF THE SOPHOMORE SLUMP

Sophomores Melina Moore and Janaye Sakkas are showing no signs of a second-year slump so far. Both were among Cal's top three point-getters in 2015, and the trend has continued with each Bear scoring a goal in two our of three weekends of competition.

Cal will enjoy more than a week off before hitting the road to face Appalachian State (Friday, Sept. 23, 2 p.m. PT) and Wake Forest (Sunday, Sept. 25, 9 a.m. PT).
