The California offense looks to continue its offensive surge this week at San Diego State. Cal notched 630 yards of total offense in the 51-31 win over Hawai'i in the College Football Sydney Cup on Aug. 27. The Golden Bears have averaged 630.2 yards of total offense in their last five games dating back to the final four contests of the 2015 season.   

Cal ranks third nationally in passing offense (441.0 ypg) and tied for ninth in total offense (630.0 ypg).

Sonny Dykes has won nine of his last 14 games with as Cal's head coach and is 14-12 since the Golden Bears' 1-11 season in 2013. 

Davis Webb leads the Pac-12 in passing yards and passing yards per game (441.0, 3rd nationally) as well as total offense (428.0, 7th nationally), His 441 yards passing against Hawai'i ranked 10th in Cal's single-game history. He co-leads the conference and ranks tied for seventh in the nation in touchdown passes (4). 

Chad Hansen racked up a career-best 14 catches (tied for third in Cal's single-game school history) for 160 yards and two touchdowns against Hawai'i. He currently ranks first in both of those categories in the Pac-12 while his touchdown catches are tied for the lead. He is also tied for first nationally in receptions, tied for fourth in touchdown catches and tied for 10th in receiving yards. 

Khalfani Muhammad was Cal's leading rusher against Hawai'i, ending the day with 96 yards on 10 carries. He currently ranks third in the Pac-12 in rushing. Muhammad also totaled 212 yards of all-purpose yardage, coming up 12 yards shy of his career high, and is second in the Pac-12 and ninth nationally in all-purpose yardage. He leads the Pac-12 and ranks fourth nationally with an average of 38.7 yards per kick return after returning three kicks for 116 yards against the Rainbow Warriors. 
 
Matt Anderson was good on all three of his field goal attempts against Hawai'i with the longest from 29 yards out. The three successful attempts tied his career high. Anderson connected on 18 of his 21 tries in 2015, and has now made 13 straight field goals and 18 of his last 19 dating back to last season. He has also made all 16 of his career tries from 35 yards or closer. The three field goals against Hawai'i were part of his career-best 15 points scored. Anderson ranks tied for first in the Pac-12 in field goals (tied for seventh nationally) and is second in scoring (tied for 18th nationally). 

Cal is tied for second in the nation in turnover margin (+3), tied for fifth in fumbles recovered and tied for eighth in turnovers gained after an interception by Cameron Walker and fumbles recovered by Luke Rubenzer and Tre Watson against Hawai'i. In 2015, the Cal defense tied for 11th nationally in fumbles recovered (12), tied for 13th in turnovers gained (27) and tied for 23rd in passes intercepted (15).
