Cal Trio Up For Walter Payton NFL Man Of The Year
Lorenzo Alexander, Cameron Jordan And Nick Sundberg Nominated By Teams For Prestigious Honor
BERKELEY – Former Cal football players Lorenzo Alexander (Buffalo),
Cameron Jordan (New Orleans) and Nick Sundberg (Washington) were among 32 nominees for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award presented by Nationwide the league revealed Thursday.
Each team selected a Man of the Year that is now eligible for the prestigious national honor given annually to an NFL player for outstanding community service activities off the field as well as excellence on the field.
Three of the 32 nominees will be selected as finalists in January of 2018 with the winner to be announced during NFL Honors, a two-hour prime-time awards special to air nationally on NBC on the eve of Super Bowl LII (Feb. 3, 9 pm ET/PT).
