BERKELEY – Following a narrow loss to Utah on Friday night, the Cal women's basketball team looks to rebound quickly, hosting Colorado at 3 p.m. PT on Sunday afternoon. The Golden Bears (17-8, 5-8 Pac-12) and Buffaloes (13-11, 3-10 Pac-12) will be meeting for the second time this season. On January 13, Cal overcame a 12-point deficit in the second quarter, storming back to beat the Buffs in Boulder, 65-53. Bears' center
Kristine Anigwe scored 25 of her game-high 29 points in the second half as the Bears used a 20-0 run to complete their largest come-from-behind win of the season.
Anigwe put together another 20-point performance on Friday night, scoring 22 points against Utah. However it was not enough to overcome a poor shooting performance from the Bears, who shot 36.7 percent from the floor. Coming off a sweep of USC and UCLA, Cal started the game strong, but went cold in the second quarter as the Utes took control of the game for good. Junior guard
Mikayla Cowling added 16 points and four assists from the Bears while freshman guard
Jaelyn Brown had 10 points off the bench.
Colorado is winless on the road this year in conference play, but is coming off a pair of narrow losses to top-10 teams. On February 5, the Buffaloes dropped a 79-75 decision to 10
th-ranked Washington and fell to 8
th-ranked Stanford, 64-51, Friday night at Maples Pavilion. Colorado took a three-point lead into halftime, but the Cardinal prevailed, outscoring the Buffaloes 18-7 in the fourth quarter to secure the victory. Colorado is led by sophomore guard Kennedy Leonard, the third leading scorer in the Pac-12 this season, averaging 18.1 points per game. The Buffaloes lead the conference in steals, averaging 11.8 steals per game this season.
Sunday's game is the final Cal Kids Day of the season, with $1 tickets for youth ages 17 and under, and marks the Bears annual "Snow Day in the Bay". Over 3,000 gallons of snow, a face painter, games, and activities will be available on Spiker Plaza starting at 1:30 p.m. Sunday's game is also the final day of Cal's Play4Kay weekend, benefiting the Kay Yow Fund and the fight against women's cancers. The Bears are excited to announce that Rama N'diaye, a member of the Cal women's basketball team from 2006-11 who was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 29, will be in attendance for Sunday's game. The campaign "Rebounds for Rama" was started this season to provide financial and emotional support for Rama during her fight with breast cancer. A silent auction will be held on Sunday, with game balls, jerseys, and various other prizes available for bid. Proceeds benefit Rebounds for Rama and the Kay Yow Fund.

A LOOK AT THE BUFFALOES
Colorado is 13-11 on the season, coming off a 64-51 loss to No. 8 Stanford on Friday night. Makenzie Ellis led the Buffaloes with 14 points, going 4-5 from beyond the arc, but Cardinal erased a three-point halftime deficit, outscoring Colorado 40-24 in the second half.
The Buffaloes are looking for their first road win in conference play since the 2014-15 season, dropping 16 consecutive on the road in Pac-12 play. Colorado beat Cal last season in Boulder, a loss the Bears avenged earlier this season. The Buffaloes have not won at Haas Pavilion since December 2002.
Sophomore guard Kennedy Leonard, a 2016 Pac-12 All-Freshman Selection last season, ranks third in the Pac-12 in both scoring (18.4 PPG) and assists (5.7 APG). Leonard had 13 points and four assists vs the Bears earlier this season. Alexis Robinson led the Buffs with 18 points in the loss to Cal, going 4-9 from three-point range, and is the team's second leading scorer at 11.4 points per game.
Head Coach JR Payne is in her first season at Colorado and has already surpassed last season's win total. The Buffaloes went 7-23 last year and finished last in the Pac-12 with a 2-16 conference record. Payne spent the previous two seasons at Santa Clara, leading the Broncos to a WNIT appearance in 2016.
Colorado was picked to finish 11
th this year in both the Pac-12 Preseason Coaches' and Media Polls. Both polls had Cal finishing sixth.
LAST TIME OUT
Cal's three-game home winning streak ended on Friday night, falling to Utah, 73-64, at Haas Pavilion. The Utes completed the season sweep of the Golden Bears and handed Cal its first home loss since a 54-45 defeat to No. 18 Arizona State on January 20.
Sophomore center Kristine Anigwe led the Bears with a game-high 22 points and nine rebounds while junior guard Mikayla Cowling added 16 points, scoring in double-figures for the third consecutive game. Cal freshman Jaelyn Brown had 10 points off the bench, her most in any conference game this season and her third double-digit performance of season.
The visiting Utes had four players in double-figures and held Cal to just 36.7 percent shooting from the field (22-60), the Bears' second-lowest field goal percentage in any game this season.
NEXT UP
Cal will play their final home game of the 2016-17 season on Thursday, February 16, hosting Stanford at 8 p.m. PT in the first leg of the Battle of the Bay. Cal seniors
Courtney Range and

REBOUNDS FOR RAMA
Rama N'diaye, a member of the Cal Women's Basketball team from 2006-2011, was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer this past July at the young age of 29. As a result of the side effects of her treatments, Rama has not been able to consistently work and therefore has sustained significant financial hardship.
It is our goal as a Cal Family to help support Rama in her fight against Breast Cancer emotionally, spiritually and financially. We've introduced Rebound for Rama to allow our extended Cal Family to participate in that end goal, once again proving that our support extends well beyond the hardwood. Donations may be made based on the number of total rebounds that the current Cal team secures over the course of this season or as a flat rate.
Rama and several members of her family will be in attendance for Sunday's game.
