INDIANAPOLIS – Three former Cal football players – wide receiver Chad Hansen, long snapper Bradley Northnagel and quarterback Davis Webb – are on an official list of 330 invitees selected to participate in the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine released Wednesday. The event takes place February 28 – March 6 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Front office executives, coaching staffs, player personnel departments and medical staffs from all 32 NFL teams will be on hand at the event to evaluate the professional football prospects.

Each attendee has the opportunity to go through on-field position work and a series of measurable skills testing including the 40-yard dash, bench press, vertical jump, broad jump, 3 cone drill and shuttle run. Among other activities at the combine are registration, orientation, hospital pre-exam and X-rays, measurements, medical examinations, media interviews, team interviews, an NFLPA meeting and psychological testing.

The combine attendees will arrive staggered by position groups with Northnagel among the first-day arrivals of specialists, offensive linemen and running backs on Tuesday, February 28. Hansen and Webb will both be among the second-day arrivals of quarterbacks, wide receivers and tight ends on Wednesday, March 1. Defensive linemen and linebackers check in on the third day followed by defensive backs on the fourth day.

Northnagel will be the first scheduled to conduct his on-field workout on his third day at the combine on Thursday, March 2 while he is also scheduled to bench press that day followed by the remainder of his measurable testing Friday, March 3. Hansen and Webb will bench press March 3 followed by their on-field workout and the remainder of their measurable skills testing Saturday, March 4.

The 2017 NFL Draft will be held April 27-29 on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia. Cal has had 27 first-round draft picks including 11 in the last 17 years and two No. 1 overall selections in quarterbacks Jared Goff (Los Angeles Rams, 2016) and Steve Bartkowski (Atlanta Falcons, 1975). The Golden Bears have had 230 selections overall since the draft began in 1936 with four last season including Goff, wide receiver/returner Trevor Davis (Green Bay Packers, fifth round, No. 163 overall), running back Daniel Lasco (New Orleans Saints, seventh round, No. 237 overall) and wide receiver Kenny Lawler (Seattle Seahawks, seventh round, No. 243 overall). Cal currently has 29 players on active NFL rosters.

Chad Hansen (2014-16), WR, 6-2, 205, Fillmore, CA (Idaho State/Moorpark HS)
Hansen announced his intention to declare for the 2017 NFL Draft as an underclassman on January 4, 2017, foregoing his final season of collegiate eligibility at Cal after racking up some of the top receiving numbers in the nation during a breakout 2016 junior season. Hansen was a first-team All-Pac-12 selection by the Associated Press, Athlon Sports, ESPN.com and Phil Steele as a junior, as well as a second-team all-conference pick of the league's coaches. As a junior, Hansen ranked third in the country per-game in receptions (9.2) and fourth in receiving yards (124.9). He was also 12th nationally in total receptions (92), 17th in receiving yards (1,249) and tied for 22nd in touchdown receptions (11) despite missing two contests due to injury and finishing with 10 games played and nine starts. In addition, Hansen led the Pac-12 in both per-game and total receptions and receiving yards while he was fourth in the conference in touchdown catches. His total receptions and receiving yards both rank third on Cal's all-time single-season list. Hansen exploded onto the national scene early in the 2016 campaign and earned midseason All-American honors from ESPN and Sports Illustrated as well as ESPN midseason All-Pac-12 recognition. He was also added to the watch list for the Biletnikoff Award during the season and captured the Berkeley Breakfast Club Award as Cal's most outstanding player in the Big Game against Stanford. Hansen began his Cal career as a walk-on and played two seasons for the Bears in 2015 and 2016 after transferring from Idaho State. Hansen combined for 111 receptions and 1,498 receiving yards with 12 touchdown catches over 20 games and nine starts at Cal after redshirting the 2014 season due to NCAA transfer rules. Including his 2013 true freshman season at Idaho State, he finished his collegiate career with 156 receptions for 1,999 receiving yards with 15 touchdown receptions over 31 games and 20 starts, while adding a two-point rushing conversion to total 92 points
 
Bradley Northnagel (2012-16), LS, 6-3, 245, San Carlos, CA (Junipero Serra HS)
Northnagel participated in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl following his 2016 senior season at Cal, where he played in 29 games all off the bench and contributed three tackles all over his final three campaigns after redshirting as a 2012 true freshman and not playing as a 2013 redshirt freshman. Northnagel became the team's full-time starter at long snapper at the beginning of his 2015 junior campaign and played in all 25 contests possible over his final two seasons making every snap at the position during the period. He previously worked with both the offensive and defensive lines as well as at fullback.
 
Davis Webb (2016), QB, 6-5, 230, Prosper, TX (Texas Tech/Prosper HS)
Webb played one season at Cal as a 2016 senior as a graduate transfer from Texas Tech and was honored as Athlon Sports' Pac-12 Newcomer of the Year before being invited to and earning MVP honors at the prestigious 2017 Senior Bowl following his senior campaign. He was also Cal's Bear Backers Team Most Valuable Player on offense, a Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award and Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award semifinalist, and an honorable mention All-Pac-12 selection. In addition, Webb made the cut to the final 15 for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award® and was on watch lists for the Maxwell Award and the Manning Award. Webb started all 12 games in his lone season at Cal and completed 382-of-620 passes (61.6%) for 4295 yards with 37 passing touchdowns and 12 interceptions for a 135.63 passing efficiency rating. He ranked among the nation's leaders in nearly every passing category including passing attempts (2nd), completions per game (3rd, 31.83 cpg), points responsible for per game (3rd, 21.7), completions (4th), total offense (4th, 348.8 ypg), passing yards (6th), total plays (6th, 653), passing touchdowns (T8th) and points responsible for (8th, 260). He was also the Pac-12's leader in per-game passing yards (357.9 ypg) and total offense, while he set Cal single-season records for passing attempts, completions and total plays. He also equaled single-season school marks for most 300-yard passing games (10) and touchdowns responsible for (43) with his 37 in the air plus another six on the ground that also tied for the most ever by a Cal quarterback. Including his three seasons at Texas Tech (2013-15), he combined to complete 841-of-1367 (61.5%) passes for 9,852 yards with 83 touchdown passes and 34 interceptions over 35 games and 26 starts.
