FEDERAL WAY, Wash. â
Farida Osman swam the second-fastest 100-yard butterfly in school history and
Kathleen Baker posted Cal's No. 3 all-time mark in the 100 backstroke to highlight the Golden Bears' efforts at the Pac-12 Championships Friday.

Â
The Bears also had three swimmers in the A final of the 100 back with Baker leading the way in 50.27 â the second-fastest time in the country this season. The only swimmer ahead of her is winner Ally Howe of Stanford, who set the American record in 49.69. Sophomore
Amy Bilquist took fifth in 51.29, while freshman
Keaton Blovad was sixth in a PR 52.41.
Â
In the 100 breaststroke, senior
Marina Garcia broke one minute for the first time in her career and came through in fourth place in 59.86, which puts her No. 3 in the Cal record book. In the B final,
Maija Roses was timed in a PR 1:00.78 to place her seventh all-time for the Bears.
Â
Sophomore
Katie McLaughlin paced Cal in the 200 freestyle with a fourth-place showing in a PR 1:43.75. Freshman

Hayden Tavoda was the Bears' top finisher on the 3-meter board, taking ninth with 280.70 points.
Â
In the final event of the night, Cal and Stanford once again battled in a relay, and for the fourth time at the meet, the Bears were a narrow second, this time in the 400 medley relay. Cal's foursome of
Kathleen Baker,
Marina Garcia,
Noemie Thomas and
Farida Osman posted the second-fastest time in school history and second-fastest in the country this season when it finished in 3:27.38. Stanford won in 3:26.74.
"We're fighting hard," head coach
Teri McKeever said. "Stanford is having a great meet. We're definitely focusing on what we can do and be at our best. We hope to finish strong tomorrow. There's a lot of pride on what we can do in the morning and what can do tomorrow night."
Â
The meet concludes Saturday with seven more events. Prelims begin at 10:30 a.m. with finals at 6 p.m. The morning session will be streamed on Pac-12.com/live, while the night races will air live on the Pac-12 Network.
