CORVALLIS, Ore.  Coming off an emphatic  win over Oregon on Friday night, the Cal women's basketball team (18-11, 6-11  Pac-12) looks to carry  its  momentum into the final game of the 2016-17 regular season, visiting No. 10 Oregon State (26-3, 15-2 Pac-12) Sunday morning at 11 a.m. PT. After being picked to finish fifth in the preseason media and coaches polls, the Beavers have clinched at least a share of the Pac-12 regular season title for the third straight year. Cal is looking for another big win to bolster its resume for the NCAA Tournament.

The Bears got back on track Friday night in Eugene, downing the Oregon, 55-49. After losing to the Ducks on a buzzer-beater back in January,  Cal came out of the gate strong, opening the game on a 13-4 run as sophomore point guard Asha Thomas went 3-3 from beyond the arc to start the game. Thomas ended the night with  15 points on 5-10 shooting from three-point range while classmate Kristine Anigwe had 16 points and 10 rebounds for her 14th double-double of the season. Anigwe neared the first triple-double of her career, matching her career best with seven blocked shots. Cal's staunch defense held a potent Oregon offense to just 49 points on the night, the fewest the Bears have allowed in any game all season.

Elsewhere on Friday night, Oregon State willed its way past No. 8 Stanford in a battle for the Pac-12 regular season title. The Beavers edged the Cardinal, 50-47, to secure at least a share of the conference crown and the No. 1 seed in the 2017 Pac-12 Tournament. Senior guard Sydney Wiese led the Beavers with 22 points, going 5-9 from beyond the arc. Oregon State out-rebounded Stanford, 47-37, including a 20-14 edge on the offensive glass.

Wiese leads the Beavers in scoring this season, averaging 15.2 points per game, and is the Pac-12 career leader in three-pointers, with 357 career treys. The Beavers, who were the No. 8 team overall in the latest NCAA Tournament Selection Committee reveal, boast the top defense in the Pac-12, holding opponents to 54.4 points per game.

Oregon State held the Bears to 56 when the teams met earlier this season, a 66-56 victory for Oregon State. Anigwe had 26 points for Cal while freshman Mikayla Pivec led the Beavers with 19 points.

A LOOK AT THE BEAVERS
Despite graduating two key pieces from last season and being picked fifth in the Pac-12  Preseason Media and Coaches polls, Oregon State clinched a share of its third consecutive regular season Pac-12 title on Friday night, beating No. 8 Stanford, 50-47. Entering the day tied atop the conference standings, senior guard Sydney Wiese led the 10th-ranked Beavers with 22 points, going 5-9 from beyond the arc.

Wiese, the Pac-12's all-time leader with 357 career three-pointers, leads the team in scoring, averaging 15.2 points per game. Junior center Marie Gulich is second on the team in scoring, averaging 9.8 points and 8.0 rebounds per game this season. As a team, the Beavers lead the Pac-in scoring defense, holding opponents to just 54.4 points per game.

Head Coach Scott Rueck, a finalist for the 2016 Naismith National Coach of the Year, is in his seventh season at Oregon State, leading the Beavers to the program's first Final Four appearance last season. The Beavers went 32-5 last season and earned a 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament, falling to eventual national champion UConn, 80-51, in the National Semifinals.

LAST TIME OUT
Cal kicked off the final weekend of the regular season with a strong statement, snapping its four-game losing streak with a 55-49 win over Oregon on Friday night at Matthew Knight Arena. Oregon tied the game 49-49 with 3:35 left in the game, but the Bears defense held the Ducks scoreless the rest of the way. Freshman guard Mi'Cole Cayton drained a pair of free throws with 8.8 seconds left in the game to give the Bears a five-point lead, and avenge Cal's defeat to Oregon on January 8, when the Ducks hit a game-winning three at the buzzer. The win snapped the Golden Bears' four-game road losing streak and gave Cal ten wins in its last 11 trips to Eugene.

Sophomore center Kristine Anigwe finished three blocks shy of a triple-double, leading the Bears with 16 points, 10 rebounds, and seven blocked shots. The seven blocks matched Anigwe's career high as the Phoenix-product notched her 14th double-double of the season.

Classmate Asha Thomas added 15 points for the Bears, going 5-10 from beyond the arc. The  5'4" point guard added a season-high seven rebounds and two assists as the Bears went 7-18 from three-point range as a team.

NEXT UP
The 2017 Pac-12 Tournament begins on Thursday, March 2 at Seattle's KeyArena. The Bears will learn their seed and first round opponent on Sunday, once all the regular season games conclude.

Cal reached the semifinals of the Pac-12 tournament last season as a 10 seed, beating Utah and Arizona State before falling to UCLA in overtime, denying the Bears a trip to the final.

REBOUNDS FOR RAMA
Rama N'diaye, a member of the Cal Women's Basketball team from 2006-2011, was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer this past July at the young age of 29. As a result of the side effects of her treatments, Rama has not been able to consistently work and therefore has sustained significant financial hardship.
It is our goal as a Cal Family to help support Rama in her fight against Breast Cancer emotionally, spiritually and financially. We've introduced Rebound for Rama to allow our extended Cal Family to participate in that end goal, once again proving that our support extends well beyond the hardwood. Donations may be made based on the number of total rebounds that the current Cal team secures over the course of this season or as a flat rate.

Rama, several members of her family, and former teammates were in attendance on February 12, as the Bears hosted Colorado in the final game of Play4Kay weekend.
