BERKELEY - Registration is open for the Nike Cal Softball Summer Camps with three sessions throughout June and July. Hosted by head coach Diane Ninemire, the four-day sessions will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with each camp designated for softball athletes of different levels.

The Cal Softball Prospect/Elite Camp, scheduled for June 12 -15, 2017, is restricted for girls 12-18 for advanced softball athletes entering grades 7 through 12. The cost is $495 and will be held rain or shine.

For younger athletes, Cal will host the Cal Softball Skills Camp June 19-22 for girls 6-11 designed to help players learn and improve their skills in a fun environment. The cost is $465.

Cal will also host the Cal Softball Skills and Drills Combo Camp July 17-20 for girls 6-11 in the all-skills portion of the camp and girls 12-18 in the elite section. Costs for participants 6-11 is $465 and for participants 12-18 is $495.

Attendees will compete at the home of Golden Bears softball, Levine-Fricke Field, and receive instruction from Coach Ninemire and members of the Cal softball team. The camps will prepare athletes for advanced level competition through individual skill development and game strategies in a competitive environment. Younger athletes will work on skill development in all parts of the game, including:  hitting, fielding, slapping and bunting, pitching, catching, base running and more.

Attendees will need to bring their own equipment (glove, bat, helmet, cleats, visor/hat, catcher's gear if needed, sunscreen, water).
