BERKELEYAfter a weekend on the road, California takes another trip to see in-state foe UC Davis on Wednesday.

The game is slated for a 4 p.m. (PT) start with live stats available on CalBears.com.

The Golden Bears (26-16, 3-11 Pac-12) are hungry for a victory after a winless weekend against Pac-12 rival and No. 12 UCLA.

Historically strong against the Aggies, the Bears head into the matchup with a 25-6 all-time series lead.

In the duos previous outing exactly one year ago (April 26), Cal snuck out with a 5-4 victory to win a two-game series at home. UC Davis tied things at 4-4 in the top of the seventh in an impressive three-run half, but Cal managed to stave off extra innings on an RBI single from Jazmyn Jackson that brought Kobie Pettis home with the go-ahead run in the bottom of the inning.

In the last two seasons, the Bears have outscored the Aggies 31-3 across four meetings, including two shutout run-rules (13-0 in 5 and 8-0 in 6) in 2015. In that time, Cal has batted .401 at the plate against UC Davis, topping off at .500 display in the Bear's double-digit blanking of the Aggies three games into 2015.

Currently, the Bears hold a batting average of .270, while limiting opponents to .247 behind the dish. Recently, the Blue and Gold posted a season-high 14 hits against Santa Clara on the way to its seventh of nine shutouts this season.

Jackson, the current Pac-12 doubles leader (15), leads the Bears squad with 28 RBIs and is batting .341, behind senior Kylie Reed who tops Cal with a .348 average.

Also notable, the Bears are 9-0 this season against in-state non-conference opponents, routing Loyola Marymount, Pacific, Santa Clara, Sacramento State, Santa Barbara and Saint Mary's and Fresno State twice, each.

SCOUTING UC DAVIS
The Aggies are 18-26 overall with a 3-9 record in the Big West conference.

Most recently, Davis dropped its league series against UC Riverside, but skirted the sweep with a 5-4 victory in game 3 of the series to mark their first win in seven games.

Led by trio Taylor Peters (.364), Brianna Warner, (.336) and Christa Costello (.313), the Aggies are collectively batting .264, while allowing opponents .298 at the dish. Warner sits at the helm recording 48 hits and 31 runs.

Despite a low batting average compared to other Bears opponents, the Aggies are difficult to retire at the plate drawing 98 walks so far this season, three ahead of walks allowed.

In the circle, 3 of 4 pitchers have a losing record, however, freshman leader Katie Kibby has 11-7 record with a 3.15 ERA. She has posted 66 strikeouts across 129.0 innings pitched, but has also given up 126 hits.

If Cal can stay poised at the plate and clean up its defensive effort from the weekend after recording seven errors against the Bruins, it could head into its next conference battle with its 10th in-state non-league win to build momentum.
