BERKELEY – Now back home from postseason play, California is greeted with some positive news, this time from off-the-field performance.
 
With five Golden Bears named to the Pac-12 All-Academic team, announced by the conference Monday, the team concludes a hard-fought season favorably.
 
Cal's Danielle Bowers (Letters and Science. 3.13), Kobie Pettis (Legal Studies, 3.25), Kylie Reed (3.32, Legal Studies), Katie Sutherland-Finch (Interdisciplinary Studies, 3.28) and Stephanie Trzcinski (Nutritional Science Toxicology, 3.24) each picked up honorable mention awards.
 
For Reed, Sutherland-Finch and Trzcinski this news comes as they conclude their careers at Cal.
 
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and appear in at least 50 percent of their team's games.
