BERKELEY – Jared Goff and the Los Angeles Rams remained unbeaten after a 29-27 victory over Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers in a highly-anticipated showdown between the two former Cal quarterbacks in Week 8 of the 2018 NFL season. Goff has now helped Rams to an 8-0 record and their best start since the Rams' 1969 squad began 11-0.
Goff completed 19-of-35 passes for 295 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in the contest while Rodgers was 18-of-30 for 286 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions.
Goff and the Rams will square off with another formidable opponent and former fellow Golden Bear in a Week 9 NFL game against New Orleans and
Cameron Jordan on Sunday in the Big Easy. The Saints have won six straight since losing their season opener and at 6-1 have the second-best record in the NFC behind only the Rams.
A total of 19 former players that finished their collegiate careers at Cal are currently on active NFL rosters while 33 former Cal players are affiliated with NFL teams with one suspended by the NFL, four on injured reserve, one on a physically unable to perform list, four on practice squads and four on coaching staffs.
