Junior Defensive End Registers Multiple Career Highs In 15-14 Win At USC
SAN FRANCISCO – Luc Bequette was named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career on Monday. Bequette had career highs of eight tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss (-20 yards) and 2.0 sacks (-19 yards) while forcing the second fumble of his career deep in Cal territory to thwart a USC scoring drive late in the first half of a 15-14 road victory over the Trojans.
Bequette and the Cal defense pitching a second-half shutout to help the Bears overcome a 14-0 halftime deficit as Cal ended a 14-game losing skid to the Trojans while the victory was Cal's first at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum since 2000.
Bequette's honor is the second weekly Pac-12 award a Cal football student-athlete has earned in 2018 with the other coming two weeks ago when
Evan Weaver was selected for the same honor.

• Has started all 10 games as a 2018 junior and contributed career highs of 36 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss (-30 yards), 4.0 sacks (-28 yards) and two fumble recoveries, as well as his first career blocked kick on an Idaho State extra-point attempt and a career-high-tying one quarterback hurry at Oregon State
• Has played in 26 career games including starts in each of the past 22 over the last two-plus seasons of his three campaigns at Cal after
redshirting as a true freshman in 2015
• Has contributed 65 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss (-40 yards), 6.0 sacks (-38 yards), two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, two quarterback hurries and one blocked kick
