Kim Collects All-Conference Honors
Junior Striker Earns Pac-12 Recognition For Third Consecutive season
SAN FRANCISCO – Cal striker
Abi Kim was recognized for her performance this season, as the Pac-12 announced its 2018 yearly soccer honors on Wednesday. The junior forward collected Third Team All-Pac-12 recognition, marking the third year in a row in which Kim has earned conference accolades. The Pac-12 All-Conference honors are voted upon by the conference head coaches and the full list of 2018 honorees can be found
here.
Kim led the Golden Bears in both scoring (six goals) and total points (13 points) in 2018, marking the second consecutive year she's had at least a share of the team lead in scoring. A Second Team All-Pac-12 selection in 2017 and a Pac-12 All-Freshman honoree in 2016, Kim closed the 2018 campaign with a strong run of form, scoring three times in Cal's final six games of the year. Kim, who competed for the United States at the 2018 Under-20 FIFA Women's World Cup this summer in France, led the Bears in both shots and shots on goal, and finished just one goal shy of her single-season best. The Vashon, Washington product also tallied an assist on August 31, setting up
Luca Deza's game-winning goal against San Diego State.
Kim is one of 27 players slated to return for the Golden Bears next season, as Cal's young team looks to build on the experience gained throughout the 2018 campaign. Â
