BERKELEY – After a trip to Georgia that featured a team title for the Cal men's swimming and diving team as well as a number of standout swims, senior Andrew Seliskar earned recognition from the Pac-12 Conference as he was named Swimmer of the Month for November.

With the Georgia Fall Invitational providing an opportunity to post NCAA qualifying times in a number of events, Seliskar was unquestionably the swimmer of the meet as he achieved NCAA "A" cuts in three individual events and three relays.

Individually, the highlight of the meet came with a historic swim in the 800-yard free relay as Seliskar's leadoff leg of 1:30.86 set a Cal school record in the 200 free and represents the third-fastest time in NCAA history. He also won the 200 IM with a time of 1:40.55, won the 200 breast with a time of 1:51.85 and swam to a time of 4:13.02 in the 500 free prelims that was best in the country for a few hours. He did not contest the final that night.

Seliskar also played a part on three winning relays, helping the Bears earn A cuts in the 200 free relay, 800 free relay and 400 free relay. He also contested the 400 medley relay and helped Cal earn 1-2 finish in the event. A national champion in the 200-meter free and winner of multiple medals at the Pan Pacific Championships in Tokyo, the native of McLean, Va. has turned that momentum into a strong start to his senior season.

The Golden Bears have fared well when it comes to Pac-12 awards in recent years. Though the conference shifted to a weekly award system midway through the 2017-18 season, Justin Lynch earned the Pac-12's monthly honor for his performance in December of 2017. Seliskar has won the award once before and other recent monthly award recipients include Olympic medalists Ryan Murphy and Josh Prenot.

Cal's trip to Georgia marked the team's final competition in 2018 as the team's focus now shifts to the upcoming finals period on campus. Racing resumes on Jan. 19-20 with the Cal Invitational all-comers meet at Spieker  Aquatics Center and the diving team gets back to work from Jan. 18-20 at the UCLA Diving Invitational. Dual meets resume on Jan. 25 and 26 in Arizona.
