CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. – California is rolling on 10 after a perfect five-win weekend at the Mary Nutter Classic was capped Monday afternoon, with a 14-3 run-rule decision over UC Riverside.

The undefeated Golden Bears (10-0) amassed 51 runs through the three-day tournament, giving up just six runs during the stretch.

Cal posted a season-high 14 runs in its final outing of the weekend, notching its second 11-run win margin and fourth five-inning run-rule.

"It was an outstanding weekend with great pitching and phenomenal hitting throughout the entire lineup," said head coach Diane Ninemire. "We need to use this momentum going forward and keep getting better as we get deeper in the schedule. We're looking forward to the next one on Wednesday."

The Bears did not leave much room for parody in their matchup with Highlanders (4-0) jumping to an 11-0 lead through the top of third, which included a two-homer from senior Kobie Pettis, who leads the team with a .444 batting average and inside the park home run from freshman Sabrina Nunez (.412) to bring in another three runs.

Cal continued its shared offensive effort with nine different Bears tallying runs, and three bringing in at least two runs. Jazmyn Jackson (.314) brought in a pair of runs to contribute to the season-high total.

After an eight-run inning for Cal, Riverside avoided becoming the team's third shutout of the weekend with pulling in a three-run homer of its own to come within 7, 11-3.

Hoping to call it a day early, the Bears crossed the plate four more times at the top of the fifth to seal the final margin.

The pitching unit was again critical in Monday's success as Zoe Conley came in as relief for Kamalani Dung, who was credited with the win. Conley picked up her second save of the season retiring three batters swinging in the final two innings.

Cal will visit Saint Mary's in Moraga, Calif., on Wednesday at 3 p.m. (PT) before returning to Palm Springs for the second weekend of the Mary Nutter Classic on Friday.
