BOULDER, CO - Colorado jumped out to an early lead and never gave up control of Sunday's game as the Buffaloes defeated the California women's lacrosse team, 15-5, Sunday afternoon from Kittredge Field on the Colorado campus.
The Golden Bears fell to 4-4, 0-2 on the season.
Kirsten Swanson collected three points on two goals and an assist, and
Caroline Corzel garnered a goal and an assist.
Parker Garrett and
Susie Ropp scored Cal's other two goals.
Defensively,
Ella Annest scooped four ground balls, posted two draws and caused a turnover.
Elizabeth Koehler secured two draws and caused two turnovers. She is now two caused turnovers shy of cracking Cal's all-time career list in that category.
Nikki Zaccaro paced the Bears with four draws.
Makayla Ward played in goal in the second half and made seven saves.
Cal remains away from Berkeley next week when it faces Stanford on The Farm Saturday, March 17, at 1 p.m.
