BERKELEY - No. 20 California begins its four-game homestand with a midweek battle against Sacramento State at 4 p.m. (PT).

After six consecutive weeks on the road to open the season, the Golden Bears will finally break in the dirt at Levine-Fricke Field.

Coming off of a disappointing weekend in giving up their Pac-12 series opener to Oregon State after winning the second game of the series with a decisive 12-0 six-inning shutout, the Bears return home for the first time since Feb. 14.

Cal opened the season in Sacramento at a Hornets-hosted tournament and downed the host team in a closely-contested eight-inning, 2-1 tie breaker.

Wednesday's matchup is just the start for Cal this week, as it continues its conference competition with a Friday-Sunday slate to be broadcast on the Pac-12 Network.

Friday and Sunday's games are scheduled for 3 p.m. (PT) with Saturday's contest at 3:30 p.m. Live stats are available on CalBears.com.

The Bears welcome No. 12 Arizona State (23-4, 1-1 Pac-12) which split its conference opening series with top-ranked Washington.

Cal looks to recover from last year's 2-1 series loss in Tempe, Ariz. The Bears avoided the sweep with a 3-0 win over the Sun Devils to close the weekend.

ASU is led at the plate by Danielle Gibson with a .414 batting average and has recorded 10 homers and 27 RBIs on the season. She is backed by Kindra Hackbarth and Morgan Howe, each batting .395. Hackbarth who plays in the right field tops the the Sun Devils with 34 hits and has contributed 22 runs, while centerfielder Howe has recorded 30 hits and 20 scores.

The Sun Devils also display a lot of potency in the circle. G Juarez leads the charge with a 0.84 ERA and an 11-1 record, while she is backed by Breanna Macha (2.33, 8-2) and Dale Ryndak (0.75, 3-1).

Despite a difficult weekend in Corvallis, Ore.,the Bears came away with some positives. Notably, Brady Fillmore recorded three home runs for six RBIs, including a two homer single-game career best for the Eagle, Idaho, native. Jazmyn Jackson's bat also talked as she connected for eight hits and trio of RBIs. Cal produced a season-best nine-run frame in its lone win of the weekend.
