TEMPE, Ariz. – The throwing team posted three top-10 marks in school history and Chrissy Glasmann recorded a school record in the javelin to highlight day one of competition at the Pac-12/Big-10 Challenge on Friday afternoon at Sun Angel Stadium.

Glasmann recorded the school record on her final attempt of Friday's competition. Glasmann sat in fifth headed in to the final throw. With darkness setting in, she unleashed a rocket of 164-0 to set the new standard in school history.  That mark bettered her previous best of the competition by 15-6 feet and moved her into second place. Glasmann bettered the mark of 152-10 by Emilee Strot which has stood as the school mark since 2006.  Maja Ahmann finished in 16th with a toss of 118-4.

Rogers recorded a throw of 213-4 on her fourth attempt to record the second-best hammer throw in school history. Her mark fell eight inches short of Jennifer Joyce's school record which was set in 2002. Rogers also reset the freshman record which she set in her first hammer competition of the year as she had a throw of 204-6 at the California Outdoor Opener. Rogers also set the Canadian junior record in the hammer throw. Rogers only finished behind Arizona State's Maggie Ewen, who was a Bowerman finalist last year. Destiny Parker took fifth place with a throw of 189-1.

Silviu Bocancea took third place in the men's hammer throw competition as he recorded a mark of 203-9. Bocancea notched the 10th-best mark in school history. Bocancea knocked Garrett Collier out of the top 10 by beating his mark by three inches.
