STANFORD, Calif. – California (31-13, 5-10 Pac-12) opened its weekend at The Farm with a quality 3-0 decision over Bay Area rival Stanford (22-24, 2-14 Pac-12) to clinch its fifth consecutive win and fourth win in a row in Pac-12 play on a brisk Friday night.

After four scoreless innings, Jazmyn Jackson knocked a three-run blast ball through centerfield to bring home Taurie Pogue and Mikayla Coelho who led off the frame with back-to-back singles. The senior's third dinger of the season to provide the final margin.

Zoe Conley was the pitcher of note and collected her 14th win in a complete game effort recording six strikeouts, three walks and three hits.

"Zoe threw a great game and our defense was really strong the whole night," said head coach Diane Ninemire. "Jazmyn was hitting strongly all game and it paid off. Overall, it was a balanced effort."

Cal returns to the field tomorrow evening for game two at 5 p.m. (PT). Cal fans can also head over to Sunken Diamond after the conclusion of the softball matchup to see Cal baseball take on No. 2 Stanford at 7 p.m. in game three of the series.  Both contests will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks.
