STANFORD, Calif. – Jazmyn Jackson left an indelible mark in her final appearance against Bay Area rival Stanford, punctuating an undefeated weekend for the Golden Bears with her first collegiate grand slam, and second homer of the series, to highlight California's 8-1 victory at Boyd and Jill Family Stadium on Sunday.

The senior finished the series scoring a run in each contest of the three-game series as Cal (33-13, 7-10 Pac-12) notched its fifth consecutive series sweep against the Cardinal (22-26, 2-16 Pac-12).

Jackson's yard work brought home freshman trio Lauren Espalin, Cameron Kondo and Sabrina Nunez to provide the final margin.

"The seniors are passing the torch with the 2014 team starting the sweep streak," said head coach Diane Ninemire. "They really had a strong weekend and that six-run inning made a huge difference today. I'm very proud of the effort and it was a total team contribution."

Freshman Mikayla Coelho and senior Kobie Pettis led off the six-score, fourth frame with consecutive singles and Bradie Fillmore loaded the bases on a walk. After seven pitches, freshman Lauren Espalin knocked through a two RBI single as the Bears built on its early momentum.

Cal opened the day with strong play at the plate collecting three hits to bring in a pair of runs. Coelho, who went two for three at the plate, brought the crowd to its feet as she pelted an RBI triple in her first at-bat, to bring home Lindsay Rood who led off with a single and stole her Pac-12 leading 26th base of the season to get into scoring position. Pettis brought in Coelho on an RBI single to jump ahead 2-0.

The Cardinal came within one in the bottom of the third on a single-run dinger, but it would be the first and only score for Stanford for the weekend.

Zoe Conley (15-10) picked up the win in a complete game effort and has been critical for the Bears making appearances in all three games against Stanford. The junior recorded two strikeouts, giving up eight hits and one run on the day.

The Bears finish the remainder of the regular season at home, starting with a Wednesday non-conference bout with Sacramento State at 3 p.m. (PT) at Levine-Fricke Field.
