Senior Has Started All 24 Games At Center Over Last Two Campaigns

LINCOLN, Neb. – Cal senior center Addison Ooms was named Friday by the Rimington Trophy Committee to the fall watch list for the 2018 Rimington Trophy. The award is given annually to the most outstanding center in Division I football in honor of Dave Rimington, a two-time first-team All-America center at Nebraska in 1981 and 1982.

The winner will be recognized at the Rimington Trophy Presentation at the Rococo Theatre in Lincoln, Nebraska on January 12, 2019.

Ooms is one of six Cal players to have earned spots on watch lists or be recognized as candidates for national awards in 2018 with the others senior tight end Ray Hudson (Mackey Award), senior running back Patrick Laird (Maxwell Award Watch List, Allstate AFCA Good Works Team® Nominee, Doak Walker Award Watch List), senior inside linebacker Jordan Kunaszyk (Lott IMPACT Trophy), junior wide receiver Kanawai Noa (Biletnikoff Award) and senior wide receiver Vic Wharton III (Biletnikoff Award).

• Has played in 27 career games and started all 24 contests at center over the last two seasons as a 2016 sophomore and 2017 junior with 12 starts each campaign
• Cal's only active player on 2018 roster to have started all 24 games in the last two campaigns and leads the team's active players with his 24 career starts
• Earned Cal's Bob Tessier Award as its Most Improved Lineman in his sophomore campaign
