Laird Surprised At Allstate Good Works Team Recognition
Cal Senior Running Back Presented With Trophy At Willard Middle School
BERKELEY, CA – Cal running back
Patrick Laird was surprised with his 2018 Allstate Good Works Team® at Willard Middle School on Friday.
Patrick was supposed to just be speaking with students at Willard, and being thanked by the school for including them in his summer reading challenge, but he was caught off guard when California running backs coach
Burl Toler III, and local Allstate agent Angela Darby, showed up to congratulate him on being named to the Good Works Team. Patrick was surprised by their arrival and all the students, faculty and California athletic department representatives were sure to give him a loud applause after Darby handed him his trophy.
After the presentation concluded, Patrick spoke to the kids about the importance of reading, to never limit themselves on what they can do with their lives in the future and participated in a fun Q&A with the students.  Â
