Cal Collects Two Wins At ITA All-American

TULSA, Okla. – California men's tennis posted strong performances on Thursday at the ITA All-American Championships, with the Golden Bears picking up wins in singles and doubles at the University of Tulsa's Case Tennis Center.
 
In consolation singles, Cal's 75th-ranked Yuta Kikuchi won in straight sets over North Carolina's Simon Soendergaard, 6-4, 6-1. The Cal sophomore will next play UC Santa Barbara's 28th-ranked Joseph Guillin in the round of 16 at 12:30 p.m. CT on Friday.
 
In consolation doubles, the 16th-ranked team of Kikuchi and Jacob Brumm also won in straight sets, 6-4, 7-5, against Denver's James Davis and Matt Summers. On Friday, the Bears will take on Radford's Rodrigo Magalhaes and Yevhen Sirous at 6:30 p.m. CT in the quarterfinals.
