Cal Suffers Setbacks At All-American

TULSA, Okla. – The California men's tennis team had a challenging Wednesday at the ITA All-American Championships, with both Golden Bear entries in the main draws losing in the opening rounds at the Case Tennis Center at the University of Tulsa.
 
Cal sophomore Yuta Kikuchi, ranked 75th, fell to Texas A&M's 16th-ranked Hady Habib, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4, in the round of 64. Later in the day, the 16th-ranked duo of Kikuchi and Jacob Brumm lost to USC's 28th-ranked Riley Smith and Bradley Frye, 6-2, 6-1, in the doubles round of 32.
 
Kikuchi and the Brumm/Kikuchi doubles team will likely compete in consolation matches on Thursday. Please check the tournament central page on the ITA website or the team's Twitter @CalMensTennis for more information later Wednesday night or Thursday morning.
