BERKELEY – Former California standout first baseman Andrew Vaughn was named to D1Baseball's All-Decade Team on Friday morning. One of college baseball's most feared offensive players from 2017-19, Vaughn joined 17 other individuals on the All-Decade Team. To view the entire All-Decade Team, click here.

Vaughn left Cal last summer as one of the school's most decorated baseball players. He became the first Bear to win the Golden Spikes Award – college baseball's National Player of the Year honor – in 2018 and was a unanimous All-American in each of his final two seasons. Vaughn jumped onto the scene by batting .349 with 12 home runs and 50 RBI as a freshman in 2017. He then slugged a combined 38 home runs over the following two seasons while batting .402 (2018) and .318 (2019).

The Santa Rosa, Calif., native became the highest drafted player in school history when he was selected at No. 3 overall by the White Sox in June. He quickly excelled at the minor-league level, reaching Class A-Advanced Winston Salem by the end of his first professional season. The first baseman hit .278 with 36 runs batted in, 17 doubles and six home runs in 55 minor league games.
