BERKELEY – Winners of five straight, the Cal women's basketball team looks to continue its momentum on Saturday when the Golden Bears host Boston University at 2 p.m. PT. Unbeaten at home this season, Cal (5-2, 0-0 Pac-12) is in the midst of nine-game homestand and captured the 2019 Cal Classic title last weekend with victories over North Carolina Central and Long Beach State. The Bears look to continue their strong run of play against a Terriers squad (3-3, 0-0 Patriot) looking to rebound from a 75-68 loss at UC Davis on Thursday night.
After opening the season with two losses on the east coast, Cal has rattled off five consecutive wins, including an upset over the- No. 20 Arkansas on November 24. Cal's depth has been on display as of late, with eight different players scoring in double-figures at least once this season. Senior guard/forward
Jaelyn Brown leads Cal in scoring at 14.3 points per game on the season and was named the MVP of the 2019 Cal Classic, buoyed by a 20-point performance in the tournament-opening win over NC Central. Brown was named the Pac-12 Player of the Week and espnW National Player of the Week after a 30-point performance in Cal's upset over Arkansas, and scored 18 of her game-high 20 points in the first half against the Eagles.

Cailyn Crocker joined Brown in collecting All-Tournament honors, both landing a spot on the Cal Classic All-Tournament Team. Styles, who is second on the team in scoring this season at a career-best 11.0 points per game, has scored double-figures in back-to-back games and three of her last four outings overall. Crocker, a freshman from Cypress, California, scored a game and career-high 15 points in Cal's win over Long Beach State in last Saturday's Cal Classic championship game, going 4-for-7 from the floor and 3-for-6 from beyond the arc.

Jazlen Green also had a standout performance from beyond the arc in the Bears' win over Long Beach State, going 4-for-6 from deep. Cal has been one of the top three-point shooting teams in the nation this season, ranking second in the Pac-12 and 19
th in the nation while shooting 38.1 percent from beyond the arc on the season.
In addition to their offensive success, the Bears are coming off a strong performance on the defensive end, holding Long Beach State to just 45 points in Saturday's championship. Cal held the Beach to just seven points in each of the first two quarters, and forced Long Beach State into 19 turnovers on the day.

SCOUTING THE TERRIERS
Boston University heads to Berkeley looking to snap a two-game losing streak. After falling to Harvard, 66-39, on November 26, the Terriers dropped the first game of their west coast road trip, falling at UC Davis, 75-68 on Thursday night.
Boston University jumped out to a 21-18 lead after the first quarter and held a two-point lead at the half, but was unable to hold off a third-quarter surge by the Aggies. Maggie Pina led Boston University with 22 points in the loss, going 5-for-8 from beyond the arc, while Katie Nelson also chipped in 20 points on another 5-for-8 effort from deep. Boston University shot 55 percent (11-20) from beyond the arc, but was outscored in the paint, 34-22.
Nelson, a junior from Falmouth, Massachusetts, is second on the team in scoring this season, averaging 12.0 points per game on the year and also leads the Terriers with 22 assists. Nia Irving, a 6'1" senior, leads Boston University in both scoring (13.5 points per game) and rebounding (6.3 rebounds per game), while Sydney Johnson is also averaging double-figure scoring this season at 10.3 points per game.
Boston University went 15-14 last season, finishing fourth in the Patriot League. The Terriers were picked to finish fourth in the 2019-20 Patriot League Preseason Coaches Poll.
Saturday's game will be the first meeting between the Bears and the Terriers. Cal has won its last five matchup against Patriot League foes, while Boston University has not beaten a Pac-12 opponent in the last 20 years.
Boston University is led by head coach Marisa Moseley, who is in her second season at BU. An alum and member of Boston University's 2003 NCAA Tournament run, Mosley spent nine seasons as an assistant coach at UConn before returning to her alma mater. In her first season at Boston University, Moseley was named the 2019 Patriot League Coach of the Year.

Cal continues its homestand next weekend, hosting Santa Clara at 4:30 p.m. PT on Saturday, December 14. Next week's game against the Broncos (4-3, 0-0 WCC), will be broadcast live on Pac-12 Networks and is the first game in a double-header with the Cal men's basketball team, who host fellow Bay Area rival Saint Mary's at 7:30 p.m. PT. Santa Clara and Cal last played in December 2017, a 79-41, victory for the Bears in the South Bay.
