Game 3 of Cal-Stanford Series Suspended

Game 3 of Cal-Stanford Series Suspended

BERKELEY -  Due to inclement weather, the third game of California's series with Stanford was suspended and will not be rescheduled.

Play began after a 30 minute delay on Monday, but action could not continue in the top of the second inning with Stanford ahead 4-0. The tarp was brought out, with hopes of resuming action after the rain passed over, unfortunately it intensified longer than anticipated.

Things were set to resume a bit later, but field conditions would not permit and the downpour increased again. The game was called around 4:05 p.m. (PT) and ruling states that it will not be rescheduled or count toward either team's record since play did not reach five complete innings.

Stanford earned a 2-0 series win after taking games on Saturday (9-3) and Sunday (11-10).

Cal returns to action on Wednesday at home against UC Davis at 4 p.m. (PT).
