HONOLULU – Led by sophomore Karlee Sparacino's three hits and freshmen Makena Smith's pair of RBIs, the Golden Bears (12-7) were lifted to a decisive 8-0 victory over St. Bonaventure on Wednesday afternoon to open the Outrigger Resort Spring Fling Tournament.

In its third consecutive run-rule, California brought six different players across the plate led by freshman Amani Bradley and sophomore Mikayla Coelho who scored two runs each.

The Bears recorded a pair of three-run frames to help in the effort and keep things out of reach before Jordan Fines got the walk-off single on a deep one to left center in the bottom of the fifth to solidify the early decision.

Freshman Alexandra Perez picked up her third win of the year to remain undefeated in the circle behind a five-hit day. She struck out one batter, without giving up any walks in 5.0 innings. Perez also picked up a hit and RBI on the day.

The Bears brought in the top of its lineup in order to jump to a 3-0 lead in the opening frame as lead-off Lindsay Rood drew the walk to get on and then stole second, Bradley reached on a fielder's choice and Coelho was hit by a pitch to pressure the Bonnies' defense.

The Bears continue play in the Outrigger Resort Spring Fling Tournament on Thursday with a doubleheader against Niagara at 5:30 p.m. (PT) before taking on host team Hawai'i at 8 p.m. (PT).
