The Cal baseball team welcomes Arizona State for three games this weekend in the final home series of 2019 at Evans Diamond. The Bears and Sun Devils play a 6:05 p.m. opener Friday night, followed by a 1:05 p.m. game Saturday and a 12:05 series finale Sunday afternoon. All three games will air live on the Pac-12 Network. The series will also air on KALX radio 90.7 FM, and it can be accessed at kalx.berkeley.edu/live-streaming as well as TuneIn Radio.

The Bears dropped two of three last weekend to No. 3 Stanford, which accounted for their first series loss at home since USC took two of three at Evans on March 15-17. However, their one win over the Cardinal was an historic one, as an 18-2 victory Saturday accounted for the biggest margin of victory by either school in the Cal-Stanford rivalry since at least 1959. It was also Cal's highest run total since a 23-2 win over Cal State Bakersfield on Feb. 24 of last season. That victory gave the Bears their fourth of the season over an opponent ranked in the top 10 when they played. They previously had beaten No. 10 LSU (5-2) on March 9, No. 7 Oregon State (3-2) on March 22 and No. 1 UCLA (4-1) on April 19 (all rankings according to Baseball America). Each of those wins came on the road.

Junior right-hander Jared Horn, scheduled to start Saturday, is coming off his second Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week honor this season. Horn threw seven scoreless innings and allowed just three hits in last weekend's win over Stanford. It was his fifth win in his past six starts, and the right-hander lowered his ERA to 1.79, second in the Pac-12 and 15th nationally.
