Cal Trio On Pac-12 All-Academic Team

Kaiwen Liu Earns First-Team Honors; Sebastian Crampton And Collin Morikawa Honorable Mention Picks

SAN FRANCISCO – Three Cal student-athletes were named to the 2019 Pac-12 Men's Golf All-Academic team announced Thursday by Commissioner Larry Scott. Kaiwen Liu (3.68 GPA, Business Administration) was a first-team selection honored in his first season of eligibility, while Sebastian Crampton (3.10 GPA, American Studies) and Collin Morikawa (3.24 GPA Business Administration) were both honorable mention selections for the second straight year. Morikawa was also a first-time selection in 2016-17.

"Each of these student-athletes have had tremendous achievements in the classroom and on the course," Alex and Marie Shipman Director of Men's Golf Walter Chun said. "It is a challenge to thrive both in the classroom and on the course especially at Cal, but they have proven it is doable. Each of them deserves the recognition they are receiving."

To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade point average and appear in at least 50 percent of their team's events.
