Del Mundo Named To TDS Team Of The Week
Alonzo Del Mundo earned a spot on the TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week after assisting on all three goals in Cal's 3-0 victory at UC Santa Barbara on Sept. 7.
Â
The sophomore forward got his first assist 45 seconds into the game. His cross found freshman forward
Arman Samimi in front of goal, and Samimi redirected the ball to
Simon Lekressner, who scored to give the Bears the 1-0 lead. Del Mundo also assisted Samimi in the 14th minute and, via a corner kick, set up junior forward
Tommy Williamson's strike in the 39th minute.
Â
Samimi also collected an assist on Lekressner's goal and along with his first collegiate goal posted his first three points as a Bear. Williamson leads Cal with two goals through three games and is tied with Del Mundo for the team lead in points with four each.
