  • QB Chase Garbers set a career high for passing yards and touchdown passes, finishing the game 23-for-35 for 357 yards and 4 TDs. His previous high was 238 yards through the air vs. UC Davis to open this season. Garbers became Cal's first QB to throw for at least 300 yards since Ross Bowers threw for 359 yards vs. Oregon State on Oct. 28, 2017. He also became the first Cal QB to throw for four TD passes since Bowers had four at North Carolina in 2017 season opener.
  • LB Evan Weaver finished his a career-high 22 tackles, breaking his high of 18 last set at Washington two weeks ago. It marked his 11th consecutive game with at least 10 stops. The last Cal player with at least 20 tackles was Jordan Kunaszyk with 22 vs. UCLA on Oct. 13, 2018.
  • With his 22 tackles, Weaver moved up to sixth Cal's career tackles list, now with 293.
  • Cal became the first Pac-12 team to win at an SEC school since Oregon defeated Tennessee, 48-13, in Knoxville in 2010. Cal improved to 11-11-1 all-time vs. teams in the SEC, including a 2-0 record vs. Ole Miss.
  • Cal has now held 11 consecutive opponents under 24 points – the longest active streak in the country.
  • Cal improved to 9-0 in regular-season non-conference games under head coach Justin Wilcox.
  • The last time Cal started a season 4-0 was in 2015.
  • QB Devon Modster made his Cal debut with 4:25 left in the third quarter.
  • TE Jake Tonges caught a 60-yard TD pass from Chase Garbers in the third quarter – his first career TD and the longest Cal play of the season. It was also Cal's longest pass play since Ross Bowers connected with Vic Warton III at North Carolina in 2017.
  • Trevon Clark scored his first career on a 6-yard pass from Chase Garbers for Cal's opening score in the first quarter. Garbers was 6-for-7 for 81 yards on the drive.
  • Christopher Brown Jr. registered his first career receiving touchdown when he scored on a 13-yard swing pass from Chase Garbers in the second quarter.
  • Three Bears registered their first career starts: RB Marcel Dancy, OLB Braxton Croteau and OLB Nick Alftin.
  • Nikko Remigio had a 43-yard reception in the third quarter, his longest career catch. For the game, he finished with 3 catches for a career-high 72 yards.
  • Jordan Duncan's 9-yard TD catch in the third quarter was his first of the season and seventh of his career.
