  • With 15 tackles, Evan Weaver reached 300 for his career, now with 308. He ranks sixth all-time at Cal with Ron Rivera (current head coach of the Carolina Panthers) fifth with 336 stops from 1980-83.
  • Evan Weaver has made at least 10 tackles in each of his past 12 games.
  • Cal is 5-4 playing on Fridays over the past 100 years.
  • Devon Modster replaced Chase Garbers at quarterback midway through the Cal's final drive of the first half. It was Modster's second appearance in as many games. Garbers left the game with an injury and did not return.
  • Greg Thomas tied his career long with a 47-yard field goal in the fourth quarter. It was Thomas' sixth consecutive made field goal. The 47-yarder was set up by Cameron Goode's second career forced fumble on the previous Arizona State drive. Joseph Ogunbanjo was there for the fumble recovery, the first of his career.
  • Cameron Goode set a career high with 11 tackles. He added two tackles for loss, one sack and one quarterback hurry to go along with his forced fumble.
  • Cal opened the second half with a 12-play touchdown drive. All 12 plays were rushes, including eight by Christopher Brown Jr., who capped the drive with a one-yard score. It marked the fourth straight game that Cal scored on its first drive of the second half (3 TDs, 1 FG).
  • Trevon Clark caught two passes for 61 yards on Cal's first touchdown drive. His 45-yard reception was the longest of his career and his 16-yard touchdown catch was his second in as many games. Clark finished the game with a team-high 68 receiving yards.
  • Tevin Paul tied his career high with seven tackles.
  • Makai Polk earned his first career start at wide receiver, and tonight marked the 30th career start for Jake Curhan.
  • RB DeShawn Collins made his first appearance as a Golden Bear in the second quarter.
  • Marcel Dancy caught a career-long 28-yard reception in the second quarter. He finished with three catches for 37 yards.
