Bears Win At Washington For First Time Since 2015

  • With its 20-19 victory, Cal defeated Washington for the second year in a row and for the first time in Seattle since a 30-24 win in 2015.
  • Cal has defeated Washington in consecutive games for the first time since winning five in a row from 2002-06.
  • Cal won its first road game of the season for the sixth year in a row (also at BYU 2018, at North Carolina 2017, vs. Hawaii in Sydney, Australia 2016, at Texas 2015 and at Northwestern 2014).
  • The game featured a 2:39 weather delay that started at 7:51 p.m. with 9:46 left in the first quarter before resuming at 10:30 p.m. The game ended at 1:23 a.m.
  • Marcel Dancy scored twice, from 20 and 8 yards – both in the third quarter – to give him three career touchdowns. He also had a career-long 23-yard run on Cal's first drive of the third quarter. Dancy finished the game with 7 carries for 72 yards and the two TDs.
  • Luc Bequette had a quarterback sack on the first play from scrimmage, his second sack of the season and ninth of his career. He later had a half sack near the end of the first quarter (with Traveon Beck).
  • Camryn Bynum picked off Cal's first pass of the year and the fifth of his Cal career in the second quarter at the Cal 14-yard line.
  • Four Golden Bears had their first career starts at Cal – Brett Johnson, McKade Mettauer, Jake Tonges and Kekoa Crawford.
  • Evan Weaver finished with 18 tackles, tying his career high set vs. Colorado last year. It marked his ninth consecutive games with at least 10 tackles. Weaver also move into a tie for 10th for career tackles at Cal, now with 259 (also Mychal Kendrick, 2008-11).
  • Ben Hawk Schrider recorded his first fumble recovery at Cal to stop a Husky drive late in the second quarter.
